You're A Very Special Friend

I always appreciate having friends who care.  True friends are hard to find, and I am so blessed to have many of them.  It is so inspiring that even though genuine friends are rare, there are still some who are there in good times and bad.  I wrote this poem to express how grateful I am for having friends like them.  I hope this inspires you all.

There’s a special friend I’ve got
Someone who’s sent from above
Who cares for me and makes me smile
A kind of friend I’ll keep for life

You’re a friend who’s there when I am down
Who inspires me a lot with words of wisdom
You make me chase my sorrows away
And let me feel that you always care

I can count on you to lend your ears
And listen to me when I share my dreams
You reach out to me with a helping hand
In you I’ve truly found a special friend

When things go wrong you make them right
And make my gloomy days turn so bright
You are the star that brightens my sky
And serves as light during my sad dark nights

Each passing day you’re in my prayer
That as a loving friend you stay the same
I will treasure you for you’re so rare
For me you are a very precious gem
