You will flourish like Palm Tree

Text: Psalm 92:12 – But the godly shall flourish like palm tree and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon (New Living Translation).

A righteous man is one who is morally right in the sight of God and obeys His laws. Unfortunately, there is none righteous before God (Romans 3:10) because we cannot keep His laws as demanded. Though we are no longer under the law now, we have a binding duty to live a life that is pleasing unto God.

Nothing pleases God like obedience, which is the basis of the new covenant. ”We are born subjects and to obey God is perfect liberty.  He that does this shall be free, safe and happy” as opined Seneca. This text is a promise from God that the righteous will flourish like a palm tree. The righteous here are the people God made right with Himself through the death of Jesus Christ who died for us.

Why did God say palm tree? Have you ever seen a palm tree shed its leave due to dry season? I came from a locality where they use the palm tree to the fullest. It is the most economical tree you can think of. We use all the parts for one thing or the other. There are about 10 bye products from palm tree. The most interesting thing in palm tree is that it produces wine and palm kernel more during dry season when other trees are asking for water.

This is a mystery and this is the intent of God for you that when others are drying up and in want, you will be flourishing. When people are complaining that it is not well with them, you will be rejoicing for the abundance God has provided for you. When things are hard for people, you will have surplus (Psalm 72:7, Proverbs 14:11). You will be viable to your generation.

FFT: A Palm tree does not lack in dry season rather it produces more.

Prayer Points:
1) Thank God for the promise, He assured us in our text.
2) Use this text to pray.
3) Bind every demon standing on your way to flourishing.
