Udaipur - World's Best City to Travel in 2009
Last year it was Bangkok, but this year, Udaipur, India succeeded to be crowned as the world's best city to travel. Also known as "Venice of the East", Udaipur is now the best city in the world to travel in 2009. If you don't know where Udaipur is located, let me tell you that this beautiful tourist destination of India with a mix of modern and traditional culture is located in Rajasthan to the west of India, neighbouring Pakistan.
Udaipur has been voted as the World's best city to travel in 2009 in an online poll by Travel+ Leisure Magazine. Same magazine last year announced Bangkok as the hottest travel destination. The poll conducted by Travel + Leisure magazine was not limited to picking the World's best city to travel only. The magazine ran polls to find out world's best island and top hotel also.
Well Bali Island, Indonesia has been crowned as the best island to visit in 2009 and Bushmans Kloof Cedar Mountains Hotel in South Africa as the world' top hotel. Known for its excellent service in aviation, Singapore airlines once again grabbed the best airline award.
Because of global crunch and high value for money, people this year preferred to visit low cost cities such as Udaipur which provide high stndards and scenic beauty for the same value. Apart from Udaipur, the world's best tourist destination for 2009, Cape Town, Bangkok, Buenos Aires, Chiang Mai and Luang Prabang are other great cities to visit in 2009, according to Travel + Leisure Magazine.

I've always wanted to go to Udaiper, but have never gotten around to it. I actually even invested in just for that trip but had to cancel because of a family emergency. Still hoping I can make it out there some day.
