I have to leave, now.  This second.  I have six or seven windows open.  In fact, I am using two different browsers, each with a few tabs.  You know what I have to do, right?  I have to push the Off Button.

The Computer, angry makes a fuss out of powering down.  It would prefer if I spent two or three minutes shutting down each particular tab, each particular window, and then, no doubt, allowing it to install updates.

I am the person. This is the machine.  What do I want?

An instant off.

I want a button I push and that's it.  Everything closes.  If it wants to 'resume' tomorrow or the next day or the day after that, cool.  But I need it to go off NOW.

Due to the proclivities of Computers, if you are to leave at 4:30 you start closing down at 4:20.  This is to give your computer all the time in the world to shut down and avoid the standard abuse one gets when they attempt to turn it back on.

"Your Computer did not shut down properly!"  is just one of the nasty comments one gets when they reinter the office.

Why?

Why can't there be a feature which is the "I have to leave NOW!"  and just shuts off the computeer without an attiude?
