Writing this might make some of my well respected friends and associates think twice about my stand in Christianity, I am sure some of they will say "Away with him, he is a backslider or I think the devil is trying to lure Brother Sam Away, let us gather and pray for his soul" I want to assure all that I really need their prayers, for I believe in prayers.

Religion is a creation of Man, and like every other thing man made, it has within itself a fatal flaw that courts self destruction. Like the Gun and Its bullet that was intended to take lives or the car and its gas emissions that is threatening the survival of our planet or the television and its contents that is messing up the mind of the young ones and the telephone and its radiation that threatens good health, religion is flawed because it exploits the belief of the people in God for the benefit of man.

A cursory look at the Bible and The Quran will reveal that Religion is founded on the blood of mortals in the name of God. History backs up this assertion as the wars of times past were fought at the behest of religion, and sometimes with the funding of religion. Most times, both sides would receive a mandate from God or the gods through a medium called the Priest or the Prophet in order to assure the people that the Heavens are on their side in their quest. The eventual outcome of the battle or war would surface when a particular Independence is won, or a particular land is possessed, or a particular king is deposed or ...whatever the outcome, it is usually in the favour of man.

Today, I see many exploited by fellow men in organised religion. Sociology said Religion is needed in order for the society to survive and have a form of order. I agree wholeheartedly, at the same time, I fear that all religion is in itself the worship of an idea or an ideal or sometimes nothing but a vague cacophony of words and unfounded testimonies and histories.

What is constant in every religion is the exploitation. Big ones and small ones but exploitation all the same. The collection of offerings and donations with a promise of divine blessing is an exploitation even though I can personally testify to it that Those who give of their substance to good causes always gets blessed in return. The exploitation of pain and misery and hunger and desperation to forge suicide bombers is an exploitation solidly based on religion and the deliberate misinterpretation of the Holy Books to suit the purpose of man to advance a selfish cause.

Am I saying people should not believe in God? NO. Where will we all be without the Ancient of Days? I can assure you that the world we live in that sustains us despite trying our very best to destroy it, did not come into being by chance or luck. God, created it, and like everything made by Him it is perfect until we decided to abuse it and exploit it to our selfish advantage.

I for one got tired of being manipulated in the name of God. But I didn't get tired of hearing from God and Following his dictates, not when it suites me but in all my ways. Like you I have an Inner witness, a conscience and then a conviction, therefore, I read my Bible and Believe In Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour, I run from religion and every religious rites that I know are traditions and rites formulated by man in a bid to ensure that my mind is enslaved for his own benefit.

I have never seen a happy man who is truly religious, for religion absolutely consumes its victims, like cancer it eats p their souls and possesses  their spirits turning them to zombies and depriving them of the fullness of the purpose of their creation.

But always there is a man, who has God and is happy. This special happiness can only be taken from him when he decides that what is has is not good enough and allow others to impose on him what they have and understand...before long, this corrupts his truth and replaces his divine touch with a mundane ritual of men.

I insist that religion can't Help, if you doubt me, look around you and see several lives and monuments that were once alive and happy and gay but which religion has turned into walking corpses or worse actual graveyards.

Jesus is guaranteed to help, though.
