When I first learning how to use the internet during year late 1998, I was working as an Internet Assistant and the common operating system for that year is Windows95 (planning to upgrade whole sets of computers to Windows98) at least, were now accessing a Leased Line Connection instead of a Dial-Up.
One customer (internet user) approaches me, while I am fixing one of the computer to install Netscape Navigator (I’m not used to Internet Explorer) Browser.
That customer is an -- ------- Christian Religion as he told me when I ask him (and I am a Roman Catholic in faith religion). That customer of mine having no plan to rent our internet but just to talk everything about God, Religion, Bible and everything…. Especially COMPUTER with INTERNET CONNECTION as the greatest and latest works of the Devil, claiming that if were still using it, our soul’s destiny is in Hell.
Wow!
Since I am using the internet, this simply means that my soul is sure to go to hell?
Have you ever heard some Religious Groups that kept on saying Computers and Internet is the works of the Devil?
So, I also reply him by saying:
“Anyone who uses different types of Pens and Papers are their souls will go to hell too because it is also the Works of the Devil.”
Well, that was way back year 1988
But now, it’s year 2012
And almost all people are possessing Cellular Phones, Smart Phones, Tablets (accessible to internet, compatible to personal computer through USB or Bluetooth)
I think they are not the only type of Christian Religions claiming that Internet and Computers are the works of the devil, there are some different Christian Religions too that thinks the same idea.
For there are plenty of Christian Religions, even their hair (for ladies only) must not to be cut or trim off because it’s a sin; or later suffer the fires of hell for eternal damnation.

Yeah, if I were on your shoes during those incidents, I would literally say to that person... WOW... what a polluted mind he has...
The internet has been a technological breakthroughs to us but there's also drawbacks if we don't use it properly. Obviously, the most prevalent is the Internet pornography. Many are enticed to watch even kids who aren't still on their appropriate age. Because of the Internet's easy accessibility to anyone, the kid's vulnerable minds are potentially within harm's way. Because of these, incidence of rape and teenage pregnancies increases day by day. The same with the incidence of murder and violence , since violence is greatly sensationalized through videos about killings and the likes of it.
So the unguarded minds of the youth will perceive a twisted perception about the realities of the world, that evil such as doing promiscuous sex and violence is completely fine. There are many incidence of murder and massacre when someone do personal meet-up with a stranger they just barely knew on social media sites. There are also incidence that students loose focus on their studies because of playing online games and it is more fun than reading a book. They give more priority on playing these games than study, these leads to poor performance in school that will eventually result to poor grades. And the main culprit is their addiction to the Internet.
There were once an incidence in South Korea were there was a couple have who neglected their baby, leaving the baby alone on their house. They haven't feed their baby for several days because they are taking care of their 'virtual baby' on the Internet cafe. Unfortunately, the baby died of starvation and the couples were imprisoned.
The internet technology is one of the most essential form of technology of this modern era, but if we'll be unable to manage it, the Internet will be the one using us than us using the Internet. It shouldn't be that way.So we must practice balance. Set a specific time frame for the day using the Internet, as well as dealing with life's reality.
based on what you reply about that couple, now i remember those incidence too that happened in our province.
Those fathers are busy playing cards, a gambling with bet, a child begging for a penny to by a chocolate candy but the father refuses, he doesn't want to be disturbed...
