Mellody Hobson is a diversely educated beautiful dark-skinned African American mature female who looks like a Hollywood starlet without all the fake bells and whistles usually associated with the star quality look. Her glamour is stylish and sophisticated.  She is classy and elegant in her projection of herself and promotion of business ethics and success.  Ms. Mellody Hobson can be seen holding hands with George Lucas at premieres and networking parties that include Lucas as a guest or revered filmmaker.   In observation, an interesting view as to their possible respect for each another is how they are almost always being photographed holding hands, as opposed to her holding onto his arm like eye-candy.  Don't think Ms. Mellody Hobson is a woman that cannot hold her own as a professional and or executive; quite the contrary.

Mellody Hobson is the president of Ariel Investments, LLC.  The Chicago business is an investment firm managing over $3 billion in assets.  Even more, it is one of the largest African American-owned money management and mutual fund companies in the United States of America.  Besides Hobson being the President, she is also the Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of Ariel Mutual Funds. Mellody Hobson is an inspiration for Black History  and Women's History month for she is a woman both defending and creating legendary accomplishments.  Not only does she handle the management and sustainability of a successful corporate business, she is a regular contributor on financial issues to ABC's Good Morning America.  Mellody Hobson is also known for being a spokesperson for the annual Ariel/Schwab Black Investor Survey.

Hobson's who was born in Chicago, Illinois, the same state where President Obama and his wife Michelle lived for many years.  Her educational background includes attending St. Ignatius College Prep high school and graduating with a BA from the Wooddrow Wilson School of International Relations and Public Policy at Princeton University. She continued her education through joining Ariel as an intern in which she rose to become the firn's senior vice president and director of marketing.  In 2000, Hobson became the company's President. All of these accomplishments occurred within a decade.

Mellody Hobson's manages to grace more than the arms of The Red Tail producer, George Lucas. This passionate productive spirit with all her accomplishments and the need to sleep is also a director of the Starbucks Corporation, The Estee' Lauder Companies Inc, Dreamworks Animation SKG, Inc. and Groupon.   She continues to serve on the board of many organizations:

2. Field Museum

3. Chicago Public Education Fund

4. Sundance Institute

As Ebony Magazine defines her, Ms. Hobson is one of the "20 Leaders of the Future" (1992). Other major magazines and newspapers that Mellody Hobson has been acclaimed are Esquire "America's Best and Brightest" (2002), The Wall Street Journal's 50 "Women to Watch" (2004) Working Woman Magazine's "20 Under 30" and now here in an article on Ms. Mellody Hobson at Expert's Column by Sharon L. West.  Mellody Hobson who has been dating George Lucas since 2006 has also created and hosted a show called, Unbroke since May 2009 that features guest celebrities such as Samuel L. Jackson to talk about economics. Mellody Hobson, a legend in creation representing a productive, educating person, woman and African American in the 21st Century.
