U2’s Bono purchased a 2.3 percent stake in Facebook for as much as $195 million in the year 2010. And now his decision to invest in Facebook.com has paid off big time.
It is public news now that Facebook’s value has rocketed to over $100 billion a few weeks ago. And with the rocketing of Facebook’s value also comes the increase of the monetary amount of the U2 frontman’s share.
In 2011 Bono’s share in the social networking site Facebook was reported to be worth a mesmerizing $728 million.
I’m thinking not only is Bono a great musician but also a good businessman!
Bono’s 2.3 percent shares in Facebook today has substantially increased after the popular social networking site went public. It is estimated that the total value of his share today ranges in the region of $1.5 billion, making Bono the richest rockstar in music history.

While Bono's shares in Facebook is generating money for him, his band U2 is rumored to be presently in the studio working on a new album. According to the British music magazine NME, the band U2 is working with several top notch artists on their new album, one of which is Black Eyed P star Will.i.am and songwriter Carl Falk.
