All tropical plants thrive when there is plenty of sunshine, air circulation and water. Most varieties of cactus too do well under such conditions.However, care should be taken to maintain a more or less steady temperature all round the year.

Some useful and essential tips for growing Tropical plants

First of all, One has to carefully prepare the soil mix for tropical plants while growing them in other places.Ideally they need a well dug up, loose soil which is absolutely essential for the plant to have a good all round growth.

Using sand or mulch is essential as it reduces water evaporation and enhances the quality of the soil.

It is best to grow tropical plants in medium Plastic containers in places where the weather change is extreme.It is easier to move the plant as and when required.

The most important thing to remember is to never over water the plants.It is always better to water on demand only after the top layer dries up.

Fertilizer should be used sparingly and only when we see a decline in growth and in the size of the flowers and leaves.

It is easy to grow tropical plants within the confines of your home , with a little amount of care and patience .

Some of the tropical plants that an be grown easily anywhere in the world are the ever popular Hibiscus,Lantanas which come in many shades, Begonias , Crotons,certain varieties of Jasmine flowers ,Gardenias, Chrisanthmums and as mentioned earlier almost all varieties of palms , Alocasia and bamboos.
