After arriving home in Idaho safely,  I had not realized how much I missed it until I got back here. There is just something about being back among the familiar places and people that gives you a comfortable secure feeling.

The week started out busy because of all the wedding preparations for Ashlee's big event. First we went to dinner at Ashlee's grandmothers house and all the kids were there with their kids. I got to meet Del's family for the first time his wife is from Peru, they have two cute little girls, one is thirty months and the other is just a year old. The younger one would go to anyone and was happy to be the object of a lot of attention. His wife is a nice lady and well spoken.

Then we had Gerry and his group with his wife Wendy, I had not met her before Monday either, and they have five children between them. They have a his and hers family, and its a nice group. Wendy I had talked to several times on chat on the computer and followed her on Face book. She is a real fan of Face book.

For dinner we had a really good meatloaf with baked Idaho potatoes, hot bread with real butter, fresh asparagus prepared by Jeanie. We also had cake, cookies and ice cream for desert. Then every one sat around and chatted for a while then went home to our respective homes.

Then on Thursday there was a rehearsal dinner, I did not rehearse any thing but I got to eat dinner. Last but not least there was a bar-b-que put on by the bride and groom at their place in Nyssa, Oregon. There we had steaks, chicken breast filets and all kinds of salads and the best baked beans I have had in nine years. And lastly after the wedding we had another buffet topped off by a piece of the wedding cake and ice cream. It was cold and blowing and everyone was cold, we ate fast so we could go home.

Overall it was a great week of food and family,a spread like I had not seen before. But Ashlee had saved her money so she could have the kind of wedding she had always dreamed of.
