Champions League Overview
UEFA Champions league originally known as European champion clubs cup or simply European Champion and only named champions league in 1992. its an annual international club football competition organized by UEFA since 1955 for the top football clubs in Europe.

The Tournament when it was originally organized consisted of direct knockout competition which was only opened for the champion club of each country. later the Tournament expands to include since the new name came in 1992 the top four clubs of the Europe's strongest national leagues, less clubs are allowed for weakest national leagues. a total of 32 clubs will be competing in Group stages were later only 16 will go through the knockout stage till the final. UEFA Champions league should not be confused with UEFA Europa League or simply known as UEFA Cup.
