My advice to those with diabetes - Reduce rice. Why? Basically, too much rice is fattening and it highly contributes to the levels of our blood sugar. Experts have now discovered the two types of carbohydrates. One is called "good carbohydrates" and the other is "bad carbohydrates."
The good carbohydrates have less contribution in the increase of the body’s blood sugar levels. These are vegetables, fruits, noodles and wheat bread. On the other hand, the bad carbohydrates which are white rice, potatoes and white bread can increase our blood sugar levels more than those good carbs which were mentioned.
For diabetics you can observe that there is sudden increase your blood sugar 15 minutes after eating rice. Why? Because rice it can be easily digested and be easily absorbed by the body. Unlike vegetables, nutrients we get from rice particularly the glucose can easily be stored and utilized.
How can you be full without rice? What we are stating here is not to eliminate rice in the diet. Rice is necessary for us to sustain our energy. Moreover, a cup of rice is enough for a meal. If you still feel unsatisfied, try to increase your consumption of green leafy vegetables. Increasing the consumption of these food will do no harm for you. You can be healthier, instead.
