Student Tip #1: How to purchase textbooks cheap
One of the most frustrating expenses for students is the rising education costs. Many students feel that their college bookstore is far more overpriced than their limited budget allows, and waiting until the financial aid refund is processed is not a good option. Instructors require you have your textbooks on the first week of class.
Once you have registered for your classes, you can obtain the textbook ISBN number either by asking at the bookstore, or searching their online database and complete the information asked for, (usually class number, section etc.) This information will be on your schedule.
Now that you have your ISBN number, go to the website www.bigwords.com
Bigwords is a comparison website, and they will search all the major textbook companies, including Amazon, Amazon Marketplace, Half.com, Chegg, as well as others and furnish you with a list of choices. Usually, the item is listed from the lowest price to the highest. Before making your selection, make sure you note whether this is the price for a rented textbook or the fee to purchase it. Bigwords provides you with the option to only search for rental or digital textbooks also.
All that is left for you to do now is to choose which option you want, click “buy” and they then direct you to the website that stocks your item. Complete the payment details either with a credit or debit card, and you should be receiving your discounted textbook(s) very soon.
