Things to Be Done in the Household in Order to Contribute in Controlling Environmental Pollution

One of the problems of the world today is the management of the wastes that are produce by humans. With the increasing world population, the problems for waste management have become a global issue. Every individual produces waste either biodegradable or non-biodegradable and with this every human should be responsible.

In order to cater with this problem, the major cities throughout the world created some measures and among of these are the establishment of the dumpsites, sanitary landfills and programs for waste management and sanitations. Government spends a lot for the establishment of these programs and facilities.

The waste management program includes the recycling programs wherein materials such as plastics, bottles, papers, metals and others materials are being reused. Another one is the implementation of the waste segregation program in which garbage are segregated according to their classes for its easy disposal and recycling.

There are government agencies that were task to do these things but individual citizens should take part on it.

There are simple things to be done in order to contribute in minimizing or controlling environmental pollution. Generally, this could be done by practicing the 3Rs namely; Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

In buying some stuff, it is important to buy only what we need. It is also a wise idea to buy products that are packed in reusable, refillable and recyclable materials as well as to stop the use of disposable items.

Another thing is to maintain and repair some items as much as possible as well as to reuse plastic bags, paper sacks, glass containers and plastics. We can also give or donate out old toys, our old clothes, our old shoes as well as other items that is no longer in use instead of throwing it all away.

Supporting products which are made from recyclable materials are nice idea. Waste management segregation should also be implemented; different waste and garbage should be segregated according to their type such as withier it is compostable, recyclables, or in residual categories. Doing this will at least lessens waste that is brought to the dump site. It is also advised not to burn garbage.

Doing these simple things could provide benefits to the preservation of our environment. All we need to do is to work together and do our part and share in managing waste. These simple things will become a big one if all of us will participate.
