For those of you who would like to fly to Thailand, no matter for what reason you should know this, "Thai taxis are cheating you"
Have you ever traveled to Thailand? If you do, have you ever got on any taxi there? If you do, have you ever noticed that there is a distance meter beside the steering wheel? And if you do, did the driver turn that meter on when you enter the taxi or they just simply offer you the price? I’m pretty sure they didn’t on the meter and how much id they tell you, 500 baht? I’m telling you, these people are cheating you.
Here’s what I would like to suggest you to do. Act like a foreigner who flies to Thailand often, you really got to do this, because if you don't, you might be paying a hell lot of cash when you do not need to. Here some ways, just look for a taxi with a red light on at the front mirror of their car (Which mean it's available in the moment) and walk straight to it. Open the door and tell the driver of where you wanted to go, then you shut up, make no negotiation, and wait for them to say yes. But too bad, they’ll probably be offering you a price which is probably going to be from 500 baht to 800 baht which is way too high. Just tell them no and if they still demand to have the price they offer rather than turning the distance meter on, just look for another available taxi and walk straight to them. You may have to do this a few time because these people love to take advantages on foreigners who does not know the country well.
Thanks for reading, hope this helps.
