Teenage Hockey Star Emma Broad Dies Aged 16

I was utterly shocked to the core when I heard this breaking news of the death of young Emma Broad.
Emma Broad was only 16 years of age when she died. Emma had great passion for the game hockey and played it brilliantly. Indeed she played hockey so well that a couple of weeks prior to her tragic death she was even called into the England squad.
Emma Broad according to reports died mysteriously in her sleep. She was found lying lifeless by her mother on Sunday morning at her family home in Weybridge. Paramedics were instantly called to the scene but there was nothing they could do as young Emma was already dead.
According to her family, nothing was wrong with Emma the day prior to her death. She was totally fine when she went to bed only to die in her sleep.

During an interview, Emma’s father said of his daughter as a person who was absolutely amazing and sweet. Emma Broad has been defined as a girl who dreamed big and did everything within her power to achieve her dream. It was this same dream and her zeal that led her into the England squad.
Emma Broad performed fabulously when she joined the England hockey team for the U16 tournament which was held in Spain. She even scored a goal in the England verses Germany match.

Her father said that she always had dreams of playing for her country and at the Olympics. “She was such a sweet young girl,” her father said “she was a person who brought joy to everyone she met.”
The cause of Emma’s death is still yet unknown.
The 16-year-old hockey star was laid to rest in her England kit.
A very sad story indeed and my heart goes out to her family and friends. RIP Emma Broad.
