We might as well likened them to two cities in accord with the tale told by Charles Dickens.  The allusion to that is very much evident.  Cities and sites are synonynous.

Wikinut had been the very first writing site I was introduced to and wrote for.  It was a powerful link by a friend, fellow writer Rathnashikamani, that enticed me to try my hand and luck with on-line writing, and I succeeded.

Succeeded in the sense that I learned the ropes in no time, thanks to the live moderators, Mark Gordon Brown, an American, now residing in Canada; and jolly Johnnydod, a Briton, who is also writing here on Expertscolumn.  On Wikinut you get a "Star page" if you try hard enough and I did so which resulted in some of my articles getting or being crowned by them.

The site doesn't pay much for sure as can be hoped for by aspiring writers like me.  In fact, it was with that disillusionment, and disdain, that I for one attacked the site after almost a year and put up reviews on here as elsewhere, eg Triond, how Wikinut is a sham site and, more irreverently, a site to be avoided like the plague.

Have I looked at Wikinut from a different perspective after I got lost in the on-line diaspora?  Yes, but only  after joining another site did I gain insight into the intricasies of earning on-line.  And that website that welcomed me with open arms was Expertscolumn.

Its environment was so unlike Wikinut (and Triond) in that it was much simpler to post articles. It was a revelation of one facet that was strange as I went along, reposting all my articles from Wikinut, and another, much to my surprise, reaping a few US dollars in such a short time, denied of me by Wikinut after my 1-year stint.

That was just about enough.  It was contentment when another brewing site destroyed all tranquility of the site and the writers' equanimity.  Reminds one of Cain and Abel in the Old Testament.

Draw your own conclusion as the tit-for-tat  has continued to reverse civilized behaviour brought on by this new site which wage a dirty marketing and advertising strategy against the site which they broke away from but which the ride like mad on its coattails to advance their cause.

Expertscolumn is my father, my pillar of strength who sustains and protects, never mind how he weathers the storm.

And Wikinut is my mother who defends me with my freedom to speak out, against whom I rebelled and to whom I go home  to rest my head on her bossom when my father, Expertscolumn, provides for and defends my shelter.

EC as father and Wiki as mother-great idea! I like it, my friend.

Thanks, my friend. For me the 2 complement each other.

Hi buzz,
Enjoyed your article, I have kind of settled on Experts and Wiki.
There are many other good sites to write on. I tried that and could not write enough to do a good job on any, so I cut back to two.

Thanks, Joe. Yep I often see you at Wiki. So nice to have total freedom to repost our EC articles there and vice versa. Like yours, writing for the 2 is enough satisfaction. Salamat, Joe.:)

Dear Buzz, I have known you for sometime now. You seem to be obsessed with these 2 sites. There is a world beyond with so many exciting sites. Try branching out there. Otherwise keep up the good work.

Thanks for the advice, good friend. I have made peace with Wiki. I will resume posting there and blend with old friends like you over there beside remaining hooked to EC. Other sites like Hubpages and Triond where I also have accounts are more than I can handle. I am content with EC and Wiki.:-) Thanks for the visit.
