Dear All Hi agan soon enough with one more Spanish lesson, for those following hereby :

SO, today we'll be revising, the articles :

Example : el hombre=the man//un hombre=a man/one man

                  la mujer=the woman/una mujer=a woman/one woman

 PLURAL : los hombres=the men/unos hombres=some men or just 'men'

                   las mujeres=the women/unas mujeres=some women or just 'women'

When we want to say ''men'' or ''women'' for example, speaking generally, IT'S NOT like in English that we say, 'men' and 'women', it's ''unos hombres''/''unas mujeres'', this meaning, either men/women, or 'some men' and 'some women' etc. Infact the ''unos'/''unas'' si the abbreviation of ''algunos''/''algunas''=some+noun in the plural.

Some vocabulary now :

la casa=the house//las casa-s (casas)=the houses, and accordingly is ' una casa'= a house/one house//'unas casas'=houses or some houses (algunas casas=some houses, when we want to point out the 'some').

la escuela=the school- las escuelas=the schools/schools (etc as above)

** PLURAL is formed by adding an ''s'' to the end when nouns end to 'a'/'e'/'o'

So, it's also la mesa=the table-las mesas=tables (or the tables)

BUT ''la nariz''=the nose -las naric-es (narices=noses)

          ''el lapiz''= the pencil-los lapic-es (lapices=pencils, the pencils etc)

la silla {pron.'sija'}= chair-las sillas (chairs)

el muchacho/la muchacha=the boy/the girl

el nino/la nina=the child, the kid, the little boy/the child, the kid (girl), the little girl, and los muchachos, las muchachas=the boys, the girls

el senor, la senora, la senorita=Mr, Mrs, Miss

NOW el arbol=the tree, And 'los arboles'=the trees,

el motor, ''los motores''=the motor, the motors, Thus adding an ''-es'' at the end of nouns ending in consonne, then other than 'a', 'e', 'o'.

la maquina-las maquinas=the machine, the machines

el padre=los padres=father

la madre=las madres=mothers         /// el hijo=the son/la hija=daughter {pron.' iho', 'iha'}

los padres=parents                             el hermano, la hermana= brother, sister {pron, 'ermano',-a}

                                                                  (nb the ''h'' at teh beginning of the word is NOT pron. as in Eng)
