Sonic Generations Review

The game is finally out and on the shelves of stores! My game was being shipped by UPS so I wasn't sure when it was going to come but when I came home it was already on my doorstep! All I have to say is that this game is more than I ever imagined it would be! The game is really great and takes you back in time to all the old Sonic games that we know and love. I am unsure how much main levels the game actually has but I am afraid to say that it is only nine. I am not for sure though because I think it is 3 on Genesis, 3 on Dreamcast, and 3 modern levels. I may be wrong though I have not yet completed the game.

I have already racked up a lot of hours on this game and it has many features that really hook you! For one of them, after every level you get a certain amount of points that you can use to buy different abilities from the ability shop which is pretty cool. I love the classic levels and the modern levels as they are both well done and very fun to play. The soundtrack in the game is great as they took all the music from the old games and remastered it. I really am starting to think Chao will be DLC since the game seems so perfectly set-up to have them in the game!

I can sense that the game is short but it really is not. The game does have a few challenging achievements that will no doubt keep you playing for awhile because they will be very difficult to obtain. After you finish three base levels there are a ton of challenge levels that are fun and change up the map a little bit. Some of the challenges really change the gameplay since you have to use Sonic's friends such as tails to help you beat the level!

Sonic Generations is a really fun game and if you are a Sonic fan or have somewhat enjoyed all the past games you definatly need to pick this game up. It is only $50 too which is a nice release date price. The gameplay has really been changed and is back to what it used to be in the old Sonic games and Genesis players and Dreamcast players will both love the game!
