Lung Cancer,Peripheral Arterial Disease "PAD"- Buerger Disease are the critical, life threatening diseases caused about by smoking that becomes symptomatic as early as 40 years old.

There are millions of smokers around the world.They are even categorized by number of sticks consumed in a day, number of years they have been smoking, and age when they started smoking.

Maybe smokers have different reasons why they got to smoking: 1. peer pressure: it's cool! 2. strong manhood 3. anti-sress 4. anti-depressant etc. And the reminder of every tobacco manufacturer "cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health" is not being treated as a serious threat.

Well, Nicotine as the main active ingredient of tobacco is the only chemical that are being taken in the human body that are not being eliminated unlike alcohol. The reason why it takes time before a person can feel the symptoms of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Lung Cancer, Buerger's disease; because, Nicotine are being accumulated first on the linings of the lungs. Based on studies, the survival rate of patient suffering from the diseases mentioned above depends on the number of cigarettes consumed. The sad part is that Lungs is the only organ in the human body that can't be replaced or transplant. So if it's deteriorating already the only way is pray to have extension; because definitely it will be a miracle to survive for a year.

Mortality rate of smoking related diseases increases every year that affects mostly males. As a matter of fact even those who already quit smoking for several years can still acquire some of the diseases mentioned above.
