Smoking means a date with sickness and death. A smoker is addicted to the habit. He hurts the self and those around him especially children. There are a lot of dangerous ingredients which lead to dreadful diseases like cancer.
The tar in smoke is the cause of cancer. 210g of tar is taken in by the smoker per year. Pregnant women who smoke or are passive smokers are more prone to abortions and low weight babies. The nicotine content and carbon monoxide can cause heart complications leading to cardiac arrest which means that there is no second chance to live the same life. Smoking causes oxidation of cholesterol and heart blocks as a result. The blood supply in a smoker is often damaged and free radicals are released which causes cell damage leading to cancer.
Passive smoking is injurious to infants, elderly people and those who are physically weak like asthma patients. It can even cause cancer. Smoking is therefore a habit which harms others also indirectly.
Nicotine, tar, arsenic, ammonia, benzene, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, acetone and hydrogen cyanide are the harmful substances contained in smoke. If a smoker reads this, please be aware that life is too beautiful and precious to be wasted on a silly habit. There are many ways to reduce stress and one of them is yoga. Try to learn under a proper guru to be freed from this slavery and become independent. It needs only sheer will power and determination which is not hard to have, considering the many obstacles that one has gone through in life so far.
There are many local self help groups to get rid of this dangerous and self destroying habit. Smoking is a habit that is most often peer induced. So it takes only willpower to get rid of this harmful habit and save the human life.
