Everything was better before the youth of today ruined it. The youth of today is messed up, they have no respect, no motivation, they don't work hard. They are a drain on society and are obsessed with absurd things, that defy all conventional logic and understanding. Young people of today have no idea how hard we had it, how easy they have it. My generation was the golden days and everything that came after obviously was the worst. Back in my day, we appreciated the value of hard work.

I'm sure you heard this one many times before. While it is true that the current youth of today has issues, lots of issues, so did every single generation. And the previous generations said the exact same things. How the generations that can after them had it easy and everything was much better back in their day. How there was more respect and everything was not a muddled mess.

Everything was better. People were more well read, they had more respect, they did not engage in bad habits and vices. No, everything was wonderful, we truly were the epitome of human evolution. Then we just had to be replaced by these disrespectful snot rags who would rather be on the Twitter and the Facebook and not even bother even picking up a book.

Every generation has these complaints. Certainly, the technology that is bringing us down a moral sewer is different. Circumstances were different back then, but for each technological change, it heralded the beginning of the end. In fact, in many ways, humanity has been on the cusp of leading to the downfall this generation all of the way from the beginning.

For better or for worse, we're still here. Granted, given the world today, that might be for worse. Then again, many of us do peer through the rose tinted nostalgia filter, and we see our youth through much kinder eyes. Naturally it is hard to admit that we were messed up as well, just messed up in a different way.

You may have remembered complaints being made by the generation of your parents about your generation. The only thing that is certain from the future as you could very well turn into the very thing you roll your eye.

Everything was better. The food tasted better, books were better, television programs and films were more thought provoking, even the air we breath were less tainted. Obviously we were perfect.

Yeah right, no generation is perfect. That's what makes us humans.
