Friends, these are sister’s favorite burgers. Them kids of her’s will take a double serving every time she cooks em. I know y’all won’t tell sister I’m giving her recipes away. Like I said before, she would have a hissy fit if she found out I was doing it. Sister cooked her good old black eyed peas, collards, hog jowl and corn bread today, just like always for New Year dinner. They was good, honey, and I ate my fill. I hope y’all had a good dinner, too.

Sister’s Favorite Burgers

Ingredients
6 whole wheat buns
1 1/2 pound hamburger meat
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fried Italian seasoning
6 slices cheese
1 medium onion, sliced
2 medium tomato, sliced
Ketchup and mustard if you wish

While you are cooking the burgers, you can wrap buns in foil and warm in the
oven if you like. Just a few minutes.

In a large bowl mix together ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder,
salt and Italian seasoning.

Shape into 6 patties and cook on each side until done.

Top with cheese slices and cook a little more until cheese softens.

Transfer burgers to warmed buns and add sliced onion and tomato.

Add ketchup and mustard if you wish.

While I'm giving Sister's recipes away, I will let y'all have her Mustard Roasted Potatoes Recipe. They are good, child, I'm telling you. try them and see what I'm talking about.

2 1/2 lbs. small red potatoes
2 onions
3 tablespoon oil
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons whole grain mustard
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup flat leaf parsley

Preheat oven to 425.
Cut potatoes into halves or quarters.
Place in a large jelly roll pan.
Cut onions in half, then slice crosswise into 1/4 inch slices.
Toss potatoes and onions together in pan.
Add oil, mustard, slat and pepper, toss.
Roast 50 to 60 minutes until browned.
Serve hot and sprinkle with parsley.
