SIMPLE COOKING IDEAS FOR GUYS AND GIRLS.

Although guys are quite independent in their lives but there are certain areas where they need assistance of their better halves or counter parts i.e girls. Though cooking is not very difficult task and most of the famous chefs in the world are males but cooking for a guy can be problematic on some occasions. Sometimes a guy may need to know cooking just to impress his girl friend or to prove to his parents that he his independent enough to live on his own or just lend his mom a helping hand,but mostly when he's studying abroad or out of town and really needs to cook something for himself. Moreover once you know the techniques you can cook anything and try you own recipies.

If recipe books and online recipes were that successful then everyone would have been a great chef. Its actually the technique and knowledge about food that makes you a good cook

Here i give you some simple and easy to follow ideas which may help you in any of the above stated scenario. Cooking food is no rocket science just proper propotion of every thing can make a delicious meal for you. But before you start cooking you should know what are the key ingredients you need and know what they are.

Onions: They are used for taste aswell as make basic gravy for your dish

Tomatoes: Adds color and tangy tomato taste

Garlic: Its a condinement adds good flavor and aroma to your food. Used to remove smell from meat aswell. Some people dont use garlic and can always skip adding it.

Ginger: Great flavor and good for use in vegetables aswell as meat

Peppers: They come in different varieties red, green, bell etc. Red pepper usually powder form is used to add color plus spice but use in small amount. Green pepper have their unique taste but dont add too much. Bell peppers or capsicum can make a simple dish look lavish and taste great not very spicy so use as you like it.

Salt: The most important component of you food is your salt. If added in appropriate amount in enhances the flavor of the food otherwise it ruins it either way. Avoid adding to much salt at a time add 2-3 pinch then taste put more iff needed and with passage of time youll become perfect as practice makes you perfect.

Black pepper: Small amount of black pepper sprinkled on you food gives you an extra edge its good in both taste and aroma.

Now i will tell you the basic curry which can be used to make any kind of vegetable or meat either in gravy or dry.

Basic curry:

Take 3-4 table spoon of oil and add chopped onions in it. Do all the procedures on medium heat so that you dont burn your onion. Stir fry till golden brown.Add 1tbs ginger garlic paste and fry for 1 mintue.  Add finely chopped tomatoes and cook till they homogenize or the water is evaporated. Add 1/2-1 cup of water if want gravy or just1/4 cup of water if want dry. Cook for a moment add salt pepper which ever you like some red chilli powder appx 1/2 tsp same amount of black pepper and delicious curry is ready. Now you can make several different kinds of dises with this one curry

  1. Add vegetables such as potatoes, peas, carrot, capsicum cook till all the vegetables are done evaporate all the water and mix vegetables are ready garnish with corriander. Always add potato first as they take longer time to cook than other vegetables
  2. Add pre soaked pulse such as dal maash, dal mung or boiled dal channa cook for a while till pulse/dal is cooked. You can  know if its cooked by pressing it between your fingers if its soft and mashes means its done. Fry so that oil is seperated. Add some cumin seeds and dal fry is ready
  3. Add chicken or mutton put 2 cups water and let it cook on medium heat. 1 whole chicken usually take 30-40 mins took cook and 50-60 mins for mutton or beef. Always check if your meat is properly cooked by inserting a knife if it goes easily it means its done. Evaporate the excess water if any. cook till oil seperates or if the garvy is thick as you like it. Garnish with corriander and ginger. chicken kerahi is ready

Trust me its very easy to cook that way and it taste great

Basic Roast:

If you are a great fan of chicken tandori and like to try on your own its very easy. Mix 4tbs ginger garlic paste 1tsp salt, 1tsp red chilli, 1tsp black pepper, 1tsp all spices/garam masala, 1 cup youghart, 4-5 mint leaves chopped, 2tbs lemon juice. Take 1 medium sized chicken apply on it and keep in fridge for 1hour. take a pan heat 2tbs oil put you chicken in it and leave it to cook for 40 mins on low heat. evaporate excess water if any it taste really good. you can also barbeque it and apply same mixture on mutton and barbeque.

You can eat all this with boiled rice or bread i tried noodles also and it tasted good. For making simple sweet dish try this recipe
