SimCity Social - Quest Guide 1

EA brings city building to Facebook with its newest game, SimCity Social. The game is currently in its open beta stage, and you can access it now to start building your city today.

This guide covers the first quests you'll encounter once you start the game, including the quests from Chapter 1 and some of the quests from Chapter 2. I list the quests in the order I completed them. Each quest entry contains the requirements and rewards for each quest, along with hints and tips to help you complete them. I publish new guides as necessary, so check back often to see my latest updates.

On to the quests!

CHAPTER 1: HOME SWEET HOME

Quest Name: Order Up!

Requirements

• Collect Simoleons from the Diner 1 time
• Collect Materials from the Factory 1 time

Rewards

• 100 Simoleons
• 3 Experience Points
• Mayor's House (Building)
• Rewards to share via feed post

NOTES

• When you place the Mayor's House in your city, you'll be prompted to choose between 'Classical' and 'Contemporary' styles. As your Mayor Level increases, you'll make more choices to customize its appearance.

Quest Name: Give Me A Sign

Requirements

• Build a Welcome Sign
• Build 5 Homes
• Population Target - 150

Rewards

• 300 Simoleons
• 2 Experience Points
• Rewards to share via feed post

NOTES

• A Welcome Sign costs 1,000 Simoleons in the Shop. Find it on the 'Decorations' tab.
• Each House costs 100 Simoleons and 1 Energy in the Shop. Find it on the 'Homes' tab.
• This concludes Chapter 1. For finishing the chapter, you'll receive 1,000 Simoleons, 5 Experience Points, and rewards to share with friends via feed post.

CHAPTER 2: COMING UP ROSES

Quest Name: Coming Up Roses

Requirements

• Build a Bakery
• Build a Toy Factory

Rewards

• 500 Simoleons
• 2 Experience Points
• Rewards to share via feed post

NOTES

• Find the Bakery on the 'Businesses' tab of the Shop. It costs 1,600 Simoleons.
• Find the Toy Factory on the 'Factories' tab of the Shop. It costs 1,600 Simoleons.

Quest Name: Visiting Time

Requirements

• Visit Don's City, Brownburg
• Perform 5 Friendly Actions

Rewards

• 2 Experience Points
• 250 Materials
• Rewards to share via feed post

Quest Name: The Fame Game

Requirements

• Build a Friend or Foe Building

Rewards

• 250 Simoleons
• 2 Experience Points
• Rewards to share via feed post

NOTES

• Choose the building you want to build from the ones available on the 'Friend & Foe' tab of the Shop.

Quest Name: Dial For Assistance

Requirements

• Call the President!
• Have at least 4 Businesses (Skip for 20 Diamonds)
• Build 3 Homes (Skip for 3 Diamonds)

Rewards

• 75 Simoleons
• 2 Experience Points
• Rewards to share via feed post

NOTES

• Diamonds are the game's premium currency.
• Click your Mayor's House, then select 'Call The President!' to finish the first requirement of this mission.

Quest Name: Especially For You

Requirements

• Have A Neighbor
• Leave a Hot Air Balloons Surprise in a friend's city (Skip for 6 Diamonds)

Rewards

• 500 Materials
• 2 Experience Points
• Rewards to share via feed post

NOTES

• Visit a Neighbor's city and perform 5 actions to unlock the gifting option. Click the 'Ready!' icon (under the face below the city's name) to open the menu. Select 'Hot Air Balloons' to finish the second requirement.

Quest Name: Rise of The Machine Shops

Requirements

• Build a Workshop (Skip for 5 Diamonds)
• Perform a Safety Check (Skip for 1 Diamond)

Rewards

• 500 Simoleons
• 2 Experience Points
• Rewards to share via feed post

NOTES

• Workshops are found on the 'Factories' tab of the Shop. They cost 3,200 Simoleons each and require 3 clicks to build.
• Click the Workshop, then select 'Perform Safety Check' to finish the second requirement.

Quest Name: Midnight Oil

Requirements

• Upgrade your Workshop to 1-Star (Skip for 3 Diamonds)
• Produce 100 Materials (Skip for 3 Diamonds)

Rewards

• 375 Simoleons
• 2 Experience Points
• Rewards to share via feed post

NOTES

• Click your Workshop and select 'Upgrade.' Click the “Do It” button 3 times to finish the upgrade. Each click uses 1 Energy and 80 Materials.

Quest Name: Greed is Good

Requirements

• Upgrade a Business to 1-Star
• Upgrade a Factory to 1-Star

Rewards

• 200 Simoleons
• 2 Experience Points
• Rewards to share via feed post

Quest Name: Chop Chop!

Requirements

• Clear 5 Trees
• Build 3 Homes
• Population Target - 200

Rewards

• 500 Simoleons
• 2 Experience Points
• Rewards to share via feed post

NOTES

• Click Trees to clear them.
