Shape Shifter's Revenge Part Three

 Brace shifted into bear form to go into the lair. Soon they were surrounded by the mage’s troop,That were hiding in the area. Brace roared a challenge and tore into the nearest enemy.

Avy waved her arms and many troops simply fell over not to get up again.

Brace changed to leopard form. A cage settled over him. Liah appeared. Once more Brace escaped from the cage.

“Really Liah”, he said ”this is getting old.” He waved the staff he still carried Liah went flying, she stopped in midair, then landed on her feet. Once more Brace changed into a wolverine.

“Wait, wait” Liah said “you should not hit a woman”.

Avy stepped forward, “he probably shouldn’t,” she said "but, I sure can”. She drew back her fist, unloading from deep within. Liah hit the ground, her neck broken.

A scream of rage sounded The Black Mage made his appearance.

“What have you done.”he yelled at Avy.

Brace turned to human,” Avy just sort of killed your top soldier.” He said mockingly, “Do you want to make something of it?”

"Get them," The Black Mage ordered.

Brace changed into a wolverine and charged. Avy shot lightning bolts and fire at the Black Mage.

In a brief respite Brace told Avy, “There are too many of them”.

Avy finally lost her temper she threw back her head and howled, a large pack of wolves tore into the Black Mages forces. She turned into a large white wolf then tried to attack the Black Mage who sidestepped nimbly, running right into the claws of an enraged snow leopard.

Soon after the screams died down, what remained of the Black Mage lay on the ground. The Black Mages forces had no one to fight for anymore many chose to surrender. When people from Brace’s and Avy’s clans came to view the sites they looked around in shock.

Brace turned to his sister. “When did you make friends with the wolves?”

"Do you remember I said that a family found me to take me to that village, I forgot to tell you that it was a wolf family that found me.” she replied with a wolfish smile.
