S.a; Special a

S.A (Special A) is a romantic comedy anime TV series, adapted from manga series with the same tittle, written by Maki Minami and published by Hakusensha.

The story started when Hanazono Hikari at six years old was defeated by Takishima Kei, also six years old, in a wrestling challenge. That incident make Hikari swore to beat Kei in anything, so that she always enrolled to the same school as Kei.

Years gone by, Hikari still constantly too busy trying hard to beat Kei, which she considers as her biggest rival, without realizing if Kei is in love with her. Again, they’re attending the same class, the SA (Special A) class. This time in Hakusenkan (Private Hakusen Academy), a super elite school which devided into A-F classes, based on students’ grades and cost Hikari’s father too much money.

SA are the top seven students within the A class which have been close friend since elementary school. They were highly respected, wearing different uniform from the other students, having the right to choose whether they want to attend the classes or not, and also the privilege to use their own building, a greenhouse named “The School’s Paradise”, where they can do just anything they want to do, such as having tea time at anytime at all. From the SA class, Hikari is the only one who chooses to attend the class, but Kei still always make Hikari the second one to him.
