Rusty Hudson's experience with an alien encounter happened on June 21,1980. He was 23 years old.
When a person sees a UFO in the sky, it is a close encounter of the "1st kind".
When a UFO leaves evidence behind, it is a close encounter of the "2nd kind."
When people can see occupants in a flying saucer, it is a close encounter of the "3rd kind."
The fourth kind: The 4th kind is the worst of all! It is when you are taken by them and experimented on.
In the beginning, there was normalcy.
Rusty Hudson was in a band. The band was playing in hotels and resorts. Their actual job was in Tampa, but they were staying in a motel in Plant City, Florida. They were working to pay off student loans. They entertained for 4 hrs, and they were planning on doing the same things they usually did after a concert. They were going to spend their time talking, reading books, hanging out at the pool, and then go to an all night diner. They never did drugs, and rarely had more than a few drinks.
A unusual bright light.

Rusty saw two very large, slanted, black eyes.
Rusty saw two very large, slanted, black eyes. He was in shock. It was hard to see because of the bright light. Rusty looked at his friend J who had a fear contorted look on his face, and was screaming something, he didn't know what. His other friend, Mark was uncontrollably shaking. Rusty was trying to convince himself that he must be hallucinating. A huge pale head with enormous black, glistening eyes, and a Mona Lisa smile, was coming toward him. Rusty couldn't move. He was terrified. He knew that, "thing" could do anything to him, and there is nothing he could do about it. At the same time, there was a terrible loud buzzing noise that hurt his ears.
The next thing he remembered after the alien encounter:
The next thing he remembered was waking up in his room exhausted. He wondered how he got in his room in the first place. He was too tired to try to figure it out, and went into a deep sleep. When he woke up hours later, he found J and Mark to ask them some questions. Rusty asked them if they remembered anything"funny" from the night before. Mark said,"You mean the light that came out of the mirror?" Mark and J said they didn't think they should talk about it, and Rusty agreed. The band broke up two weeks after the incident.
The aftermath of the alien encounter.
Rusty Hudson never really felt like the same person again. He couldn't relax, and always felt like he was waiting for something to happen. He couldn't lay on his back in his bed at night because he would have panic attacks. Rusty was often sketching pictures of the alien that he saw that night. His new girlfriend was the only one he ever told about the alien encounter. She brushed it off as his overactive imagination, and didn't really believe him. In addition, she thought the sketches he made were horrid. One morning, she was sitting across the table from him reading a book review in the" New York Times", and she suddenly threw down the paper. She flipped through the pages, and showed him a book advertisement with the same exact picture that he had been sketching. The advertisement was for a book called,"Intruders" by Bud Hopkins, and "Communion" by Whitley Strieber. Rusty's girlfriend encouraged him to buy the books. But when he bought the books, he couldn't even read them because the pictures upset him so much.
His visit with the writer of one of the books.
Rusty decided to contact Budd Hopkins about the book that he wrote. Hobkins told him not to read any books on the subject so he wouldn't confuse his encounter with the encounters of others. Instead, he suggested that Rusty be hypnotised so he could recall what exactly happened to him.
Hypnotic regression:
He cried.
He was scared.
It was coming closer.
He did not want it to come closer.
It started out like an image in the mirror.
It came out of the mirror.
It was right there in front of him.
Inches away from him.
He is on a table. He is touched. He feels a tingling sensation, and is relaxed and unafraid. He feels groggy, as if drugged. He had a medical examination, and experience. He felt a sharp pain in his left knee. Then he awoke out of his hypnotised state.
He looked for a scar on his body resulting from his alien abduction.
Rusty went home. A day later, he decided to look on his body to see if there were any scars. He found one above his knee. He got upset and felt like he had to talk to someone. Budd was out of town, so Rusty called one of the phone numbers that Budd gave him to call in case of an emergency. He met with the person, and told him his story. The man said,"Look at this." and showed Rusty his scar that was in the same exact place as Rusty's scar. Rusty was not crazy about the idea of having an encounter with the strange beings, but was relieved that he wasn't going crazy. He knew the experience did happened to him, and it happened to others. Parts of the experience came back to him little by little, and parts of the experience remain obscure. He contacted Mark after many years, and was given a few more details of that night's experience. To this day, Rusty tries to put it out of his mind, and pretend it never happened. But then a vivid memory will pop into his head, or he will hear another abductee's story that is similar to his own, and he cannot deny his truth. He said in the article he wrote about his alien abduction, that the reason he was telling his story, as embarrassing as it was, is because he wanted to help someone else that had a similar experience know that they were not alone.
