AS ROMA new era with Zdenek Zeman

Zdenek Zeman had been back to Olimpico stadium and AS ROMA..

He ever trained AS ROMA in season 1997-1999

In Season 1997-1999, He is the first coach see the biggest talent of Fransesco Totti and put him as playmaker..He build too his squad (before completed by Fabio Capello) with 2 great full back like Vincent Candella (left full back) and Cafu (right full back)..

Cafu comes to AS ROMA since 1999 and leave AS ROMA 2003. It means one of the Zeman tactics is using the winger play when his tactics need a good full back that can play for attacking and good for defending..

In his second year of his first era (season 1998/season 1999), Marco Delvecchio become top scorer (18 goals), Fransesco Totti (12 goals), paulo Sergio with 12 goals, and Eusebio Fransesco with 8 goals. The biggest difference with his first year that no more Abel Balbo when Marco Delvecchio become the number one forward in that season.in this second year, AS ROMA scored 42 goals but get 49 goals (the poor defensive play is not supporting the aggresive tactics of Zeman with 4-3-3). Unfortunatelly in this season, Lazio beat AS ROMA in table and only finished fifth.
