Red Dot Design Award 2012 Renault Twizy & Porsche Carrera 911

This year 2012 Red Dot Design Award, in automobile design, was given to Renault Twizy electric city car and to Porsche Design for the new Porsche Carrera 911.

Overall more than 4500 examined products and 55 selected winners with the Best of the Best Design Award.

The awarded projects display was held at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen Germany, the Red Dot award ceremony for the Best of The Best awards was held  at the  Aalto Theater with Prof Peter Zec editor and organizer of this famous event presenting on stage in front of a full Theater.

The start was very exciting with a violonist on stage making an incredible performance, and after Prof Peter Zec started to call on stage one by one all the winner designers. The Award was given and a nice photo was taken with two members of the jury present on stage to hand the Award.

For Renault Twizy Patrick Lecharpy VP R&D Design and Luciano Bove R&D Design manager  were awarded in behalf of the all design team, for the Porsche Carrera 911 the all design team arrived on stage with the car on a foggy stage. Design director Michael Mauer received the Red Dot Design Award and made a nice speech talking about the passion and culture at Porsche AG.

Guest speaker of the evening was Walter de Silva the VP Design VW Group.

Later on all the guests moved againg to the Red Dot Museum for the Gala Dinner were everybody were seating at round tables and pre ordered seating, a live band was playing music and the athmosphere was really relaxed and happy. Designers could meet and socialize exchanging opinions and stories about their projects.

Last event to close the full activity day was the Designers Night to listen to music dance and have fun all together.
