Reason behind Islamic Calendar

Islam- a religion of logics and reasoning has for all time made available room for intellectuals of international repute to have discussions on its universality. No one hitherto can make self-denial of its implanted consequences nor will any one do in future. Islam superseded other religions reason d’être all qualities of latter’s have been affixed in the former.
The words of Holy Prophet (PBUH), which became Hadiths and actions took the shape of Sunnah are all pedestal on solid reasons. When we intervene into Islamic History, it will reveal Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) had amazing thinking power that no one had possessed ever. Islamic Calendar is also an out-come of that accepted wisdom. Days in AD Calendar are 365 whilst Islamic Calendar pinches it to 354 or 355 days. Now question arises, “what was the need to make amendment in AD Calendar?” Was there any problem with counting or some other hindrances compelled Holy Prophet (PBUH) to restructure already existing and smooth-sailing system? With bird eye view no convincing arguments can be found but in depth study it will come to know it’s only the Islamic Calendar which became the foothold provider in elimination of poverty, usury and social discrimination. If government is falling short in revenue generation vis-à-vis expenditures, then it must opt for Islamic calendar as it will enable the government to generate one year revenue extra after 32 to 34 years that can be adjusted according to governmental needs. This generated revenue will be more than enough for next thirty years if apportioned sensibly. In this way government can rid of usury and habit of begging bowl.
Relentless recession-in front of every country, has bogged the economy, decelerated the GDP, dwindled the job opportunities, ramped up depression in the people, minimized the resources and given momentum to usury. Disparity, with the passage of time is soaring up. Nations have become divided into different blocs. Depression is encompassing the deprived people. Despite UNO’s best efforts, poverty arrow changed the direction upward. The rich are becoming richer and the poor are standing anti parallel to their counterparts. Organizations efforts are going in vain. Pakistan’s condition is even worse than anyone else. Government has become habitual to feed herself on loans. No one in government is enough capable who can come forward with rock-hard solutions. Usury has failed bitterly; it gave nothing to people but poverty, disintegration and hatred. In prevailing circumstances, it has become binding for Pakistan to implement Islamic Laws in letter and spirit as early as possible.
