Most of us have been the victim of a rude or mean individual.
Why would any one be rude or even cruel for no apparent reason?
There are many factors that can cause a person to inflict psychological
or physical abuse on another person.
If children grow up in a home with love and warmth they learn empathy and compassion.
They are more likely to become loving caring adults.
If there are no consquences to negative behaviour they learn that its okay to be mean.
Sadly many children are growing up in homes that are abusive and loveless.
Without intervention they may grow up to act out this learned behaviour.
When an individual has deep seated insecurities he may inflict this pain on others.
These people may actually be suffering from mental illness and need help,
before their actions become violent to themselves or others.
Here a some examples of incidents of meaness or bullying:
1, A child spitting at another child,
or stealing from them and threatening them with violence if they tell.
2, A person pushing in front of you in a line and even swearing at you.
3, Some one racing you for a parking space that you have clearly been waiting for.
4, Left out of school or work dinners and parties, purposely
5, An obnoxious neighbour making your life miserable with unwarranted complaints and actions.
6, A person at school or work making up stories or spreading malicious gossip verbally or on the internet.
7, Using physical violence in any form, especially without provocation from pushing to using a weapon against them.
These things happen all the time, if you are a kind sensible person it is very hard to understand.
Remember the comedian Flip Wilson and his saying the devil made me do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SLifea3NHQ
Well the person still has made his own choice and should be responsible for his actions in my opinion.
But we can choose to respond or react to this cruelty reacting makes us bitter responding makes us better.
Like Corrie Ten Boom a Dutch women that helped hide Jewish families during the second world war and was put
in a concentration camp along with her sister and family please read her story of forgiveness below;
