Music is powerful. It has the power to energize, inspire, irritate, or relax you, depending on the song you are listening to and what you associate with it. Which songs get on your nerves? Which ones do you love?

I listen to a radio station that frequently plays Carly Rae Jepsen's song "Call Me Maybe". Fortunately, the station also plays other songs, like "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye, "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction, "Starships" by Nicki Minaj, and "Glad You Came" by The Wanted. While I do not dislike "Call Me Maybe", I have grown tired of hearing it. I would much rather hear other songs on the radio, played straight through from beginning to end, with no one talking over the beginning or end of the songs.

One song I would love to hear on the radio is "Trouble" by Pink. This song is featured on the soundtrack to the movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked" and is performed by The Chipmunks and The Chipettes.

Another great song is "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga, also featured on this soundtrack and performed by The Chipmunks and The Chipettes. This song, fortunately, is played on the radio. I hear it, and it makes me smile.

A third great song is "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel. This song is featured on the CD titled "Billy Joel Greatest Hits Volume III" and mentions people, places, and events from history. The song has a great rhythm, a catchy melody, and is fun to listen to.

If you love "Call Me Maybe", keep listening. If you have grown tired of it, however, consider listening to something else. There is great music out there, waiting to be enjoyed. It is as close as your music collection. Simply pop a CD into your player and listen to what you want to hear. You can also call your local radio station and request a song. Deejays are happy to play requests. What song are you dying to hear? Call the station, and let the deejay know. Hearing your favorite song on the radio can make a good day great.
