The guards informed the landlord about Janardan’s presence. The landlord’s breakfast was served in the garden and told about Janardan who came there looking for a job.
“Send him in.” The kind hearted landlord ordered. Seth, as he was fondly called, was really a gentleman. In spite of having a huge amount of fortune with him, it did not deter him from being a down to earth person. He was a god-fearing man who always helped the people in need. The landlord was rich, no doubt, but he was equally kind at heart. He was well aware of poverty and generally would not let go any poor man empty handed.
Janardan came in came followed by a guard. As he entered the spacious mansion he was spellbound to see the wealth and the riches of the landlord. He dreamt of asking for a big ransom to free the wealthy landlord’s kid, whom he had decided to kidnap.
“Come in. Come here my poor man. What brings you here?” asked Seth.
It seemed Janardan had gone blind and deaf after seeing the humongous bungalow of the Seth. It looked as if he did not hear the landlord’s question and instead kept gazing around in disbelief, because he had never before seen such a bungalow before.
“Hello young man, lost in your own world?”
The landlord spoke quite well to him, trying to make him comfortable.
“Well, not really, Sir”. Janardan replied giving an uncomfortable smile.
“If you are in search for a job then….”
“… That’s right Sir, my search of a job has brought me here.”
Janardan tried to act as honest and humble as he could.
“Either way I would pay any other man for a job. I may better pay you. You are a wee bit familiar to me as you look to be of the same town. Ok now tell me, what job can you do for me?”
