Poems On Nirvana

I'd like to share these 2 poems which I wrote on 2 separate occasions

The Realm Of Nirvana

From where I stand,
forlorn, on a long journey
that culminates in you
I gaze into space with
great longing where the
universe shields you

Alas, you're so unlike the
stars visible in the night sky!
Yet, as swiftly as thought,
when the time is ripe, I will
fly out to you in timeless space.

Now I soar like a skylark,
unfettered, and freely will I
hover over the cities where I
had lived, to revisit memories
as a slave, a king, a rabbi, a
priest, a woman, a killer......

Sigh! So weary am I that I
no longer wish to experience
rebirth but an end to suffering,
ultimate bliss and total peace:
To finally enter the realm of
Nirvana!

But now it feels as if I'm sucked
into the whirlpool again and with
reluctance I yield to my obligation,
for it's morning and my body has
awakened to a new day.

Nirvana--Let Me Be Free

 
Sleep and be at rest mortal me,
that I may roam my skies, my night,
play with the stars, the moon you
see distant but in fact one spectral
remains of Me hidden from view.

There's a cathedral I miss, this starry
night, the emptiness that contains me
where dreams are born and played
out and you wake up, bemused in
innocence, yes, ignorance.

You suppressed my voice when I
whispered unto your puny inner ears;
through your "reason" was my wise
counsel filtered out, the lessons of
past remembrances.

Stay confined, then, in your sick bed
for though I contain you, never can
you, a body, ever stretch to suit me.
A paradox of you, as ever, is though
I be willing your flesh is weak.

Oh, galaxies, there my freedom, don't
deny me my peace and serenity much
longer than I deserve! Nirvana, show
your face to me, even just a glimpse
of your winks that will never end.
