Here in Western Visayas Philippines, every time that there are Foreign visitors (US or None-US) those people who are making protests, standing on the center of the crossed street, or sometimes found on the edge side of the road, holding placards, megaphones, and a leaflets that all messages are pertains to anti-US Visiting Forces or the like.
It is a common life here in our place that every time they heard another Foreign Visitors, they protest again. Good if the climate is a sunny day, but there is a time I am eating in a restaurant, while I am eating what I order, I kept on staring at them.
They looked like a human statue, or a human dummy, they never care how much intensity heat of the sun rays that penetrate their skin, their message protest is what important for them. As I notice that dark clouds covered the sun and cold shadows surrounds the streets, what a good cool temperature to feel.
Then suddenly a heavy rain falls, and what happened is for those protesters to immediately evacuate their area and seek building walls not to get wet from heavy rain.
I just smile to what I saw and notice, that it has a meaning, that they don’t care if what ever heat of the sun but if heavy rain pours, they cannot resist to last, but immediate evacuate.
Why?
Filipino’s don’t like USA foreign visitors to visit us here in Philippines?
And why is it that in the Philippine Immigration Center, there you could see lots of Filipino’s forming a very long line no matter what heat of the sun, heavy pours of the rain, the most important thing is that their passport VISA will not marked as “Denied!!!”
Heat rays of the sun and heavy rain pours is like making protest “No to USA Visiting Forces” but if ever they have given chances to migrate to USA or any foreign lands, they will surely grab the opportunity.
