Man founded society so that he could live together in large numbers. The system of give and take presided so that people could exchange goods that they make according to their skills and live harmoniously in society. The beginning of societies in many regions saw the emergence of parental domination. This came to be so that children and the junior members obeyed the chief and the society was secured thereof. In some areas patriarchy was the system followed where the chief was the male and all others obeyed him. Daughters were married off and did not live with their parents by birth after marriage. In some societies matriarchy was followed where the daughters stayed on after marriage and the sons visited their wives who lived on in their homes.
Anarchy?
In today’s modern society, neither patriarchy nor matriarchy exists in its true form. The children study and go abroad and marry people of their choice. They live separately and traditions and societal customs dwindle. The absence of family rules and regulations has minimized the role of parental rule and opinion. The so called modern couples have nothing to fall back on, once the magic of honeymoon is over thus leading to growing divorce rates. Is this not leading society to a state of anarchy? Children are immature when compared to the wise and experienced elders; therefore do not shrug away the advice of elders because they know more than you after having gone through similar situations in youth.

Perhaps we are heading toward anarchy. According to Acharya Rajnish, the family system is something that hinders our development and so it should be abolished. Modern day youths might have started thinking on similar lines.
