Croatian Quadruple Sculls was the main favorite for the gold medal in rowing during the entire competition, but the silver medal is a great achievement.
At the Olympic Games in London Croatia has won first Olympic medal! Croatian Quadruple Sculls won the silver medal in rowing, and thus confirmed that the role of favorites was justified. Our athletes were little disappointed after the race, because their wish was to win the gold medal, but weather conditions were more difficult, however, they know that they have made very great success. They probably feel a little disappointment because the fact, that they were during the whole year the best in all competitions. But they are a young crew, and many competitions waiting for them, and I am sure many more medals.
After a convincing win in the qualifiers and semifinals and after best times in races, our rowers deserved to take silver medal. Germany crew were the rival of Croatian crew for the gold medal, and from the beginning to the end of the race they kept their rhythm. Croatian crew held the second place during the whole race, while the Australian crew deservedly took third place. It was a great race and Croatian team has silver medal!
Croatian rowers: Valent Sinkovic, Damir Martin, Martin Sinkovic and David Sain.
