New York Dance Program for All Ages
"NYC Dance Arts is a new edition to New York City’s dance community in Union Square" The program’s premiere performance is in a 90 seat theater for its Spring Festival in the heart of the theater district March 31, 2012. Roshelle Wilder is the Director and Choreographer.
Roshelle Wilder, the Founder of NYC Dance Arts describes on the company's website that the NYC Dance Arts program is a "mission to enhance one's life through the art of expression and movement from inspiration of the soul." It has been a long dream for the director to bring about a program that hand picks some of the best talent from its school and the city to be a part of the dance troupe. March 2012, she and her top performers showcase on Broadway their expertise in dance skills and love for dance.
The Founder of the school, Ms. Rosehelle Wilder has been dancing for over two decades and for almost a decade, she has been choreographing. Her skills were honed from the established Katherine Barnett School of Dance located in Red Bank, NJ. Her unique and seasoned style is a combination of all cultural dancing. Even more, Roschell Wilder has managed to study with Hip Hop international competitor Moises Rocha and graduate from college to receive a BA degree in Psychology. Currently, her downtown NY studio boasts trophies from choreography she created.
Ms. Wilder's newest project is a offshoot of her dance studio located in the village of New York City. The school has expanded to included new dancers to make up a troupe that will perform during seasonal tours throughout NYC currently. Their last show was a short introduction of the talented troupe of ten dancers just in time for winter break for college students. The upcoming NY Dance Arts program however will be their first major spring performance which will be housed in the fame 45th Street Theatre. The theater is located in the heart of the theater district known for hit productions such as The Lion King that travels the world. The 45th Street Theatre is also an arms through away from The Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
On March 31, 2012, the newest members will perform pieces with exquisite customs and emulate detail to pieces to include Modern/Contemporary, Bhangra, Creative Movement, African and Hip Hop all created by Wilder with the help of her hard working and experienced dancers. The crew have worked endless hours to exhibit a show that in its premiere, will be talked about as a classic performance for months and years to come.
Performing at 4:00 pm Sharp will be:
Raechell E., Chante' R., Tee D., Rebecca Al, Shariyka P, Cassandra B., Nicole W., Janae C., Alex K., and Elizabeth C. These are not they who attend the school, but are actually the troupe members.
Talk of a documentary on the school, Ms. Wilder and the vibrant personalities of her dance students and skilled dance troupe is already in the works. Audience members for this event will have the honor of knowing they were part of the live performance by the NYC Dance Arts dancers before any film screenings of their act. The school offers a spectrum of dance instructions that enhances the body and spirit for young men and women from all walks of life and interest of dance level.
