There she lay motionless
A sight a son shouldn’t see
The father came in to tell him
About what’s about to be

Your mom will not make it
They have to pull the plug
I know you love her dearly
You can give her one last hug

No, this isn’t happening
I won’t let her go
You can’t take her away
She’ll get better, I know

Son you have to understand
There’s nothing to be done
She lived a great life
But it has been overrun

With no breath in his lungs
He fell to the floor crying
He couldn’t believe before him
His own mother was dying

He couldn’t feel anything
On the whole car ride home
It’s like his whole life
Became a depressing poem

He laid in his bed
For days without a sound
Until the one day
His mom was to be in the ground

He stood there with no emotion
As she was placed in her grave
He could not understand
How she could have died so brave

There was a bad incident
Someone sparked a wire
It lit up a flame
And she saved her son from the fire

This is all my fault
For she came back to set me free
I just wish she didn’t
She shouldn’t be dead, it should be me

She’s always with you son
No matter where you go
It is not your fault
That’s what she’d want you to know

With tears in their eyes
And with gleams that shone
They lived the rest of their lives
Knowing they weren’t alone
