New Google Policy Changes Our Lives
Google's new, unified Terms of Service Agreement may affect you. Google will now track you across all of its services. Already Google has stored all data pertaining to its users. Everything. You can tell this by how when you search for something, it autofills. Just earlier today, I was typing in my browser looking for a website that apparently was close to one I searched for over 6 monhts ago. It autofiled in the browser. This happens in Google Maps also. Try it. Google applications can now see what you searched for in another Google application. In another words, it is likely that if you search in Google for a particular subject matter and then went to for instance Youtube afterwards, don't be surprised if you see you tube videos popping up on the subject matter you searched for moments ago elsewhere online. Use Google+, get tagged.
This is what the new Google process is like: "We can provide reminders that you're going to be late for a meeting based on your location, your calendar and an understanding of what the traffic is like that day", a quote from Google. None of this is for discouraging your use of Google and certainly many consumers embrace a total connection of all information about them and their whereabouts. It is merely an article of informing of the power of Google's new technology. After all, it's all business more than anything else.
The fact that users are consumers first and Google makes money of advertiser's, this new tracking system of events and storing of data could make it more efficient for targeted ads. You will soon be able to simply sit in front of your computer and look to the left, front and sometimes in front of you to see what new products are available that fit your profile for purchasing. Obviously, this could be a very cool idea. Since all data on a person is stored, for the first time, your ads can be personalized. Beats seeing all those wasteful ads and pops that have nothing to do with your personal life, doesn't it?
