The Need of Living in the Lord

When there are no problems in lives, the majority is happy to an extent; but people want to be happier. Perhaps, a feeling of incompleteness is haunting them always, as they search for something relentlessly ever! More precisely, there is a frequent unexplainable pursuit for happiness – even in the midst of both poverty and luxury on this earth. What is this unsearchable happiness and why do people search for it?

As a matter of fact, the ultimate happiness can be found only in our creator God, who designed and made everything that is visible. Word of God says in Hebrews 4:10-11, NIV-Bible; “for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.” – In fact, every creation continues to search for its creator or origin, until the day of its final rest.

There are many formed theories and techniques nowadays claiming the perfect harmony and joy in life, if followed meticulously. Yet, none of them can suffice the need of finding the true happiness. As a matter of fact, people continue to search till the end – as it is written in Ecclesiastes 12:7, NIV-Bible; “and the dust shall returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.” No matter what life you have on this earth, good or evil, the spirit belongs to the Lord and it will go back to Him.

It is also written in Genesis 1:27, NIV-Bible; “So God created the man in His own image; in the image of God that He created him; male and female He created them”. The above verse states that God created man differently from all other creations and He made him in His own image; in other words – man is a part of God, which belongs to Him. And, because of this reason, we need to rest in him by seeking His Kingdom and Righteousness, which is our destiny and future. In addition, bible declares that our citizenship is in heaven, not here on earth (Philippians 3:20). And for this reason, nothing will make us happy as home!

Therefore, it is time for us to know that our spirits belongs to God. So, we could never stop searching, nor satisfied fully in this world until we rest in Him (Hebrews 4:1-10). This explains very well why we need to live for the Lord. No happiness or possessions of this earth can ever be compared to this divine euphoria, which is God himself. And the only way to have His rest is to live in the word of God, all day long till the end.
