My Special Dessert, Watergate Cake

This is my most special dessert cake. Everyone asks me to bring it for family dinners and I make it for company and holidays. It’s so simple to make, nobody believes it until they see the recipe and the ingredients. When you are in the mood for baking, test it on your family and see if they like it. You will probably be asked to make it over and over again, so be prepared.

The Watergate cake is a dessert I make on holidays or when we have company over. Everyone loves it and you will be asked for the recipe, so have copies typed out and ready to hand out. The ingredients are simple ingredients that you probably have in your pantry and refrigerator, if not they can be found easily on your grocer’s shelves. I use a little less oil than the recipe calls for and it works out fine. I hope your family and friends like this cake as much as we do.

Watergate Cake

* 1 box white cake mix
* 1 small box instant pistachio pudding
* 3 eggs
* 1 cup cooking oil
* 1 cup club soda
* 1 cup pecans or walnuts

* Topping;

* 1 16 oz. Whipped topping
* 1 large box instant Pistachio pudding
* 1 1/3 cups cold milk

Method

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Combine all ingredients except nuts. Beat for 2 minutes.
3. Blend in nuts.
4. Pour into greased and floured baking pan.
5. Bake for 50 minutes or until done.

Topping

Beat ingredients together until very thick. Spread on cool cake.
