My first $200 in Expertscolumn

A few days ago, I reached the first $200 from Expertscolumn.

That amount does not include earnings from referrals.

The first $200 comes from all the views that my articles generated.

If you think that I will jump for joy at this accomplishment, you are wrong.

I feel nothing about reaching this particular milestone. In fact, I felt happier when I made the first dollar in Expertscolumn.

It is strange that the first dollar could give so much happiness, yet the first $200 does not offer the same joy.

The first pay out of five dollars similarly made me so happy for days. I literally woke up happy and went to bed in a dreamy state for a couple of days.

I guess we are all irrational creatures.

Everyone knows that $200 is definitely better than a dollar or five dollars. In quantitative sense, yes, that is so. I rather have $200 than a dollar.

When it comes to emotional state, we do not behave rationally.

The first dollar gave us much happiness because the beginning stage of writing for a new site is always the toughest.

We have to get used to the layout of the site. We have to read the terms and conditions, and learn the requirement. All these come before we even write and publish the first article.

After the publication of a few articles, we will receive the notification that a few of articles were deleted because of violations of certain terms.

The first dollar came after we put in so much effort in building up content.

In comparison, the effort made after the first pay out was much lesser. When we have a number of articles getting views, we tend to slack, and write at a more leisurely pace.

I wonder what happen when I make the first $1000 in Expertscolumn. I probably will not feel very happy either.
