What is music? Well in technical way music is an organized composition of sound that has harmony, rhythm and tempo. Music is considered one of the oldest form of art having existed already in the prehistoric era when it was used for celebration’s and rituals.

Since then music has developed in to a very wide form of art that encompasses all races. It has branched out into various genres from pop, rock, blues and hip-hop. It has grown so much that hybrid forms of genres has been formed like Alt Rock, Metal, R and B and even techno Pop. Music nowadays can be used in almost any activity. Music is used for celebrations, therapy, and rituals or to ease boredom in performing various activities like exercising and studying.

Although due to these genres people have unconsciously planted various forms of bias to other kinds of music that creates a rift between various social groups that enjoy different approaches towards music. Music has always been and will always be an objective form of art and no form of music can ever truly be superior than the other.

Common opinions of those who love classic music and Broadway express extreme dislike for techno music and dub step saying that it has gone to far from what music really is and at the same time those who love indie and rock think that pop and mainstream music is too commercial and so on.

It’s sad to think that these so called musician and music lovers hate on each other just because of varying taste. I believe that those who truly love music are not biased by genre. People shouldn’t be forced to listen to music that they don’t find entertaining and we have the right to speak our mind but if has reached to the point that a person judges others negatively just because of what they like listening to is an entirely different thing.

Music is a universal language. Whatever genre you prefer is up to you but we should learn to accept others for who they are. Music is an expression of word that can just simply be said. It’s the sound of emotions that we want to share to others. Music lives in all of us.
