Music. It makes a great impact on our lives, although it goes unnoticed most of the time.

Aside from the obvious fact that music provides us with a source of entertainment and relaxation, it also has this weird unifying effect. When you hear your country's national anthem, you cannot help but stand straight. That one song can unite an entire nation, however divided it may be.

Another fact is that music is a universal language. Wherever you're from, let it be China, India, Ethiopia or US, you are able to appreciate good music. One good example for that is the songs produced by K’naan and Shakira for the 2010 FIFA world cup. Although most people were not able to understand what the hell they were singing about, they all sang along.

Good music gives you the goosebumps. It gives you inspiration, hope and courage. When listening to any of the songs from John Williams, (Composer of music for the Star Wars saga and Harry Potter) you can't help but get the goosebumps. It may make you smile or cry, but in the end, it makes a significant impact on your life.

This shows the impact that music has on our lives. Of course, listening to horrible singers will make you want to rip your ears out. But overall, music is pretty good.
