Every year, some of those famous faces influence us and the rest of the world more than others, making them more powerful than some of their coworkers. Here are the names of those who had the most impact on us in the past year:

1-Angelina Jolie
No surprise here! She's beautiful, she's talented, she's rich, and right now the most powerful celebrity in the world! Dethroning Oprah Winfrey from the number one spot, she earned a nice 27 millions in the past year, thanks to movies such as ''kung Fu Panda'', ''wanted'' and ''salt'', which has yet to be released. Nevertheless, the publicity she gained from those movies is none compared to the one she received from the birth of her twins, and the constant media buzz going around her realtionship with Brad Pitt (who would be #9 on the list by the way).

2-Oprah Winfrey
Again, no big surprise. Even thought she is not on the #1 spot for the most powerful, she is for the most money earned, with 275 million! Even with the rating from her show continuing to go down, her earning havent change since last year! She has a three year deal worth 55 million with XM satellite Radio, in addition to her monthly issued magazine, ''O''.

3-Madonna
Another name you were expecting. The queen of pop is still so popular, even after so many years! Her paycheck for the past year was rounded up to 110 million, thanks to her still going strong music career! She made most of her money on the road, touring her ''Hard Candy''. It was the biggest earning tour in 2008, ranking in 280 million across 17 countries.

4-Beyoncé Knowles
Beyoncé's earnings came from a few different sources, such as films, album sales, tours, her fashion collection and a multitude of endorsement deals.

5-Tiger Woods
Because of a knee injury, Tiger had to spend the year mostly as a bystander, playing basically no golf. SO he earned his money from endorsements, appearance fees, and mainly from a really lucrative contract designing golf courses!

Some newcomers on the top 100 list would include the Twilight Saga writer Stephenie Meyer (#26) and country sensation Taylor Swift (#69). Meyer earned 50 million dollars in the past year by selling 29 million books, creating a vampire sensation worldwide. Swift found herself the top selling US artist for 2008, earning 18 millions from various sources.

Barack Obama joins the list as the first President to ever join the list. His historical election has helped him sell millions of books, earning him 2.5 million dollars! He entered the list at #49.
