If you are from a country that is part of the EU then you are lucky that education is not only mandatory but available for everyone. If you are teenager from the EU and are reading this you may think school is a waste of time and is just there to keep you from having fun with your friends.

Well its not. If you are not willing to put effort into school and exams then chances are you are not willing to make an effort in life, including working hard to earn a living. You may see school as something that is forced upon you, but for other people somewhere in the world going to school and getting an education is a luxury.

There are many people in poorer parts of the world that can only dream of getting an education. There are children who walk miles everyday just to learn, yet here in the UK many teenagers can’t even be bothered to get out of bed to be drive to school by bus or car.

Education is there to shape you as a person and be the first step to a decent future. It should be taken for granted as there are some people who would jump at the chance to take your place.

That's so true! Of course sometimes it can be annoying to have to go to school every day, but it really is worth it in the long run! And we are lucky to have such a good education system in Europe.
