MORE THAN WE THINK

Text: Romans 8:31 and 32– What can we say about such wonderful things as these? “If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” Since God did not spare even His own son but gave Him up for us all, won’t God who gave us Christ, also give us everything else? (New Living Translation).

That God is love is a reality. His love is without any conditions attached to it (Romans 5:5 – 8). He loved us before we were born and before we repented. The love God has for us is love far greater than the love between spouses (Genesis 3:21, John 3:16 and Romans 8:32). Of all the creatures, man is the only one loved above all others by the Creator. Paul knows this as he expressed in Romans 8:32. Because of this love, God is always there with us, providing, protecting, guarding and guiding us.

God’s promises of giving us all things are the “things that may be needful for our welfare. These things he will give freely; without money and without price. His first great gift, that of his Son, was a free gift; and all others that we may need will be given in a similar manner. It is not by money, nor by our merit, but it is by the mere mercy of God; so that from the beginning to the end of the work it is all of grace” according to Albert Barnes. From this we see our privilege as Christians. We have friendship of God; favoured with the highest proofs of Divine love; and has assurance that he shall receive all that he needs.
What do you desire? You have a darling who gave you His son to die in your STEAD (Romans 5:7). Can you give one of your sons to die for your town? How much more your only son. This God did for us. Why do you think He cannot give you that which you need? Trust Him; He will give it to you. He can give you more than you think, so far it will sustain your faith and salvation.

Food for Thought: If He gave His only son to die for you, what else will He not do for you?

Prayer Points:
1) Thank God for the gift of His Son.
2) Use v 32 to pray.
3) Ask God to fight against those who fight you.
