Modern love doesn't have a system of values. It is unique and only the old fashioned has a true definition of what love is considered that usually has a set of values to include romantic nights and music. Modern love is almost a sense of self-love that has a conceit attached to it. It is a matter of being selfish love that sets a lover apart form another to include mostly receiving than giving.
Today's modern love does not have much reference to memorable moments as in the days when spoken word, images and music reflected a sense of giving and letting go of one's ego. What reference can be stated in lyrics that boast sexually promiscuity and even abuse of each other all in ways of warped sexually orientations that have no normacly but anything goes as a basis of not being in love but loving the body and the sensations it feels no matter from what unusual circumstance. As long as the physical body can be satisfied, humans or really mostly today's young adults, the mind through this type of thinking is trained to believe it is love that is being experienced.
Modern love, sex, love and romance are all very different emotional experiences. For young adults, decipher what each one is in today's society is very confusing since in many cases what they grew up to understand a relationship is close to being outdated. As a matter of fact, it is. Not that it's a good thing, on the contrary, it is detrimental to the growth of young adults being of a mental health that is stable so they can be progressive happy and run their world feeling good about dealing with people, in relationships with mates and raising also mentally healthy chidlren who will inherit the world. How to change a world where the percentage of hepatitis C virus infection is 4 times more among the public than the HIV virus according to the CDC due in part to modern love habits is a mystery, but one that needs to be taken very seriously as to finding methods to help stabilize the mental health of young adults and help retrain thinking to determine the difference between emotional feeling verses sexual feeling when thinking of the later as a means of romance and or a loving secure relationship.
